Hello all!
I hope this email finds you all well and happy and peaceful!
It’s been a while since an update, huh? Or at least it feels like that for me.
How come no one ever replies to my emails?? Hello!! I’m bored out here! Hahaha.
Well, let’s see what’s going on here in the Amazon.
I ate porco de mato (more about it on my blog) for dinner, twice already. The wild boar was that fat. It was delicious- one of the better meats here. On Sunday, it was just the meat- like cut up or whatever. Today for dinner, I look inside the communal pot, and what do I see? The head! Omg. I was like, Whoa! What’s that!?
One of the girls tried to give me some of its CHEEK, but I’m done with eating animals’ heads, thank you very much. So I just politely refused by nervously laughing and left.
Life here has been pretty slow and uneventful but once August comes around and school starts, things are going to get busy! There are a lot of exciting things to look forward to!
I’m trying something new while I’m here! I’m making an actual and honest attempt to memorize Scripture! I’ve even separated them into categories, like sin so I can remember what the Bible says about sin, or peace so I can remind myself of the peace that Jesus left/gave us, and so forth. I’ve just found some verses for each category, but I haven’t started memorizing yet. I hope it works! I’m hoping that it is effective in fighting off temptation. Yahoo!
