Hello everyone!

How’s it going!

Let’s see… it’s super hot here. But when it rains, it’s out of control! In the past week, I’ve seen so much lightening. I even saw it during the daytime. You know how we always see it in cartoons or that one mountain dew commercial. It looks exactly like that.

The missionaries put me to WORK. Monday through Friday, the students all have “trabalho,” which is manual labor pretty much. They take their machetes and chop down the grass or overgrown plants or whatever else that needs to be taken care of around here. They’ve told me and the other girl missionary that’s here right now to work with the students. That’s fine with me- it’s better than just sitting in my room for 3 hours. Haha. It’s just going to be super hot and I’ll probably get super dark. Monday, we just pulled weeds out of the grass. Easy. Yesterday was a little harder. We moved wood and palm tree leaves haha. TODAY! Was a big day. I learned how to use a machete- and trim grass. The whole time I was thinking, "This is out of control." I got all these blisters on my hands, haha. I'm the weak and unfit Americana. Hehe! But anyways, please pray that I don’t get skin cancer or any other thing like that!

Oh, remember how I said I had English classes in the city on Tuesdays and Thursdays? Well, it’s cancelled now! I never got to teach one class because no one ever came! I don’t know if I should be offended or not, but I’m over it. :)

I’m trying to wake up earlier and pray! Morning service starts around 5:30-5:45. I’m trying to get my butt to the chapel by 5:00 LATEST!! My alarms are set for 4:10 and 4:35. This morning, I woke up at 5:20. I hate myself. Haha. But I’m gonna keep trying. And I’ll pray like crazy for all of you!

Why am I doing this? Because! Mark 1:35 – and rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he [Jesus] departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. Jesus did it. And I need to pray more. Prayer is essential! Yup yup.

Oh! I’m also helping out with Children’s ministry at the missionary’s sister church, which is like a mile or so (?) from the main church. It makes me think of and miss the GSC kids. They all probably forgot who I am, but still. Haha. But I think the neighborhood is quite dangerous. There are always police cars around AND on Sunday, there was a police car investigating a MURDER!!!!!! Hahaha. So dramatic, I know. But whoa. Apparently the guy was killed after he drank a lot. Boo.

But yeah, that’s my exciting life right now! Hope you are all well and enjoying life and loving God and all that good stuff. Email me back any of your updates or prayer requests!

Also, check out the picture. I got myself a sty. O_O (P.S. it's gone now :D)

In His grace and peace,
Sharon
